The Galaxy Z Fold 3 launch is just around the corner. But for as long as the device doesn’t go official, leaks will keep coming. The latest leak now talks in detail about the upcoming Samsung foldable’s camera specifications and internals, along with a launch time frame.
It is long reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will keep the same rear camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 2. We are looking at a triple camera setup with three 12-megapixel sensors. The combination could also be the same – a wide-angle primary camera, an ultrawide lens, and a telephoto zoom camera.
The upcoming foldable will also reportedly retain the 10-megapixel selfie camera on the cover display from its predecessor. However, the second front-facing camera on the main display will upgrade to a 16-megapixel sensor. Despite some leaks suggesting otherwise, the latest report claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will debut Samsung’s under-display camera tech.
Moving on to the inside, the new report reiterates that the foldable will pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor. The Snapdragon 888+ arrived too late for Samsung to make changes in that department. The company will reportedly offer a maximum of 512GB of storage capacity on the new foldable (a 256GB variant should also be available). So no upgrades here either.
If you recall, Samsung had launched a Galaxy S10 variant with 1TB onboard storage a couple of years back. The Fold series is probably worthy of such vast storage capacity but, alas, the Z Fold 3 won’t get it.
Nonetheless, there are plenty of other things to look forward to on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. A more durable design, more scratch-resistant foldable display, S Pen compatibility, IP rating for dust and water resistance, and a cheaper price tag are to name a few.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 to go on sale in late August
The latest report claims that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the second week of August. Perhaps the August 11 date that we reported about earlier this week seems highly probable. The device will reportedly go on sale in the US and UK later in the month. The report also claims it will arrive in the Indian market in September.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 isn’t the only highly anticipated Samsung device of 2021 though. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, which will arrive during the same event next month, is also being looked forward to with as much excitement. It has also been leaked extensively over the past couple of months and there are some interesting changes incoming. Unfortunately, we still don’t have a confirmed date for Samsung’s next Unpacked event. Hopefully, we’ll get to know that soon.
